Microsoft has launched Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5600 (KB5058493) to the Dev Channel, bringing numerous new capabilities, enhancements, and resolutions for Windows Insiders.
Declared by Amanda Langowski and Brandon LeBlanc, this update unveils improved Copilot+ PC functionalities, better system performance, and enterprise support, along with fixes for various bugs from earlier builds.
New Copilot+ PC Capabilities
A key feature of this build is the launch of intelligent text actions within the Click to Do capability designed for AMD and Intel-driven Copilot+ PCs.
Users can now highlight text by using WIN key + mouse-click or WIN + Q, then dragging to select a text segment.
Options encompass summarizing the text, generating a bulleted list, or altering the tone to be more casual, formal, or refined.
“Powered by Phi Silica, an on-device Small Language Model (SLM) embedded into Windows, these functionalities yield results directly, allowing users to copy rewrites straight to the clipboard.” Microsoft Windows Declared.
These intelligent text functionalities are accessible to users logged in with a Microsoft or Microsoft Entra account, provided that English is set as the default language and at least 10 words are selected.
For French and Spanish users, Click to Do currently offers Summarize, Create a bulleted list, and Refine, with complete Rewrite options expected in a future update.
Gradual Rollouts and Enhancements
For Insiders who have the “Get the latest updates as they are available” toggle enabled in Settings > Windows Update, several modifications are being gradually rolled out:
Dynamic Lighting: Compatible devices can now be safely disconnected using the taskbar’s “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” icon.
Settings: A brand new FAQs section on the Settings > System > About page delivers quick responses to common inquiries regarding system setup, performance, and compatibility. Furthermore, a novel agent in Settings is being launched first on the Beta Channel, with support in the Dev Channel to follow once machine learning models are prepared.

Entra ID Support: AI features in Paint (version 11.2503.381.0+) and Notepad (version 11.2503.16.0+) now support Entra ID for IT-managed PCs across the Canary, Dev, and Beta Channels. This empowers enterprise users to utilize tools like Cocreator and Generative Fill in Paint, along with text summarization or rewriting in Notepad.
Fixes for Enhanced Stability
This build tackles several concerns, including:
- Start Menu: Resolved crashes impacting dependability.
- File Explorer: Addressed a deadlock causing freezes on the Home page, missing tooltip information, and crashes when closing File Explorer.
- Taskbar: Fixed keyboard focus challenges and flickering media controls in application preview windows.
- Voice Access: Corrected crashes while using Spanish.
- Windows Spotlight: Fixed an issue causing the “learn more about this picture” overlay to get stuck above other application windows.
- Live Captions: Resolved crashes from the previous build.
- Other: Enhanced colors in MMC for selected items and rectified a bug causing applications like Microsoft Word to freeze during printing.
Known Issues
Despite the advancements, some challenges remain:
After a PC reset, the build version may incorrectly show as Build 26100 instead of Build 26200. Upcoming Beta Channel updates will rectify this.
The PC reset option within Settings > System > Recovery is presently non-functional.
Some users with Xbox Controllers connected via Bluetooth may experience a bugcheck. Microsoft advises uninstalling the “oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf)” driver via Device Manager to fix this.
On Copilot+ PCs, intelligent text actions in Click to Do may encounter prolonged wait times on initial usage after a build or model update, with limited support for Spanish/French.
Narrator’s richer image descriptions and Voice Access’s adaptable language support on Copilot+ PCs are currently under investigation for issues.
Reminders for Dev Channel Insiders
This build is based on Windows 11, version 24H2, delivered through an enablement package (Build 26200.xxxx).
Features are rolled out incrementally using Control Feature Rollout technology, with expedited access for users who enable the toggle in Windows Update.
Certain features may remain in preview, undergo modifications, or may never reach the general release, and localization is ongoing.
Accessibility features like Recall and Click to Do may not operate fully in preview.
Insiders are encouraged to submit feedback via the Feedback Hub (WIN + F), especially under Desktop Environment > Click to Do, to assist in shaping future updates. For a comprehensive overview of Insider builds, visit the Flight Hub.
Microsoft continues to enhance Windows 11 with these preview builds, providing an insight into the future of the operating system while addressing user input and system efficiency.
