SaaS and Technology Companies
Security and compliance for SaaS and technology companies
Enterprise customers buy software only after a security review. We help SaaS and technology companies earn SOC 2 and ISO 27001, pass customer questionnaires, test their applications and AI features, and keep cloud environments secure as they scale.

At a glance
SaaS and technology companies are asked to prove their security before enterprise customers will sign: a SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certificate, a completed security questionnaire and recent penetration test results. CyberAccord prepares you for those audits, tests your applications and AI features, and answers the reviews that stall deals.

The obligations you face
Each point below rests on a primary source. Follow the link to read the rule itself.
Enterprise buyers ask for a SOC 2 report
A SOC 2 report is an independent CPA firm's opinion on your controls against the AICPA Trust Services Criteria for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. Enterprise procurement teams commonly ask for one before signing, and a Type II report covers how controls operated over a period.
International customers expect ISO 27001
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 sets requirements for an information security management system, assessed by an accredited certification body. Customers outside the United States often recognize it more readily than SOC 2, and the two share much of the same control work.
Processing customer data brings contract duties
When you process personal data for customers in the EU, GDPR Article 28 requires a contract that commits you to appropriate security, and Article 32 describes the measures expected, such as encryption, resilience and regular testing. Customers pass these duties to you through their data processing agreements.

AI features add new attack paths
Features built on large language models can be manipulated through prompt injection, leak data from retrieval systems, or misuse the tools they can call. The OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications lists these risks, and enterprise reviews increasingly ask how you tested for them.

FAQ
Sector questions, answered
Should a SaaS company get SOC 2 or ISO 27001 first?
Start with the one your customers ask for. United States enterprise buyers usually ask for SOC 2; international and some regulated buyers prefer ISO 27001. Much of the control work overlaps, so the second one costs less once the first is in place.
Can we answer security questionnaires before we have a SOC 2 report?
Yes. Accurate answers backed by policies, a recent penetration test and a readiness assessment carry real weight. We help you answer honestly and build a reusable library, so each review gets faster while you work toward the report.
Do our AI features need separate security testing?
If your product uses large language models, retrieval or AI agents, yes. A standard web application test does not cover prompt injection, data leakage through retrieval or tool misuse. We test those paths by hand and map findings to the OWASP LLM Top 10.
