At a glance
Security advisory from CyberAccord helps organizations build and run a security program: writing security policies, assessing and implementing security controls, training staff, and managing risk and governance. It suits growing companies that need a credible program for regulators, auditors, or customers but do not have a full in-house security leadership team.
Security policies and documentation
Policies are the foundation of a security program, and nearly every standard, including HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks, requires them. Without clear policies, people make avoidable mistakes that lead to breaches, legal costs, and lost trust.
Whether you need new policies or a rewrite of existing ones, we combine regulatory, legal, and technical knowledge to write documents tailored to how your business actually works. We remove overlap and contradictions, so policies are easy to follow and easy to keep current.
Security controls assessment and implementation
Security controls are the safeguards that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your information. We assess the controls you have against your risks and chosen framework, then help you implement the ones that are missing, starting with those that reduce the most risk.
If you run on AWS or Azure, the provider handles physical controls for its data centers, so we focus on the controls you own.
- Administrative controls: policies, procedures, roles, and responsibilities
- Technical controls: access control, encryption, logging, endpoint and network protection
- Physical controls for the facilities and equipment you manage
- Preventive, detective, and corrective controls working together
Security awareness training
Human error is behind many breaches. Our training teaches employees to recognize phishing, ransomware, malware, and other common attacks through short interactive sessions, videos, and quizzes.
We start with phishing simulations to see where each group is strong or weak, enroll people in training that matches their results, and keep running simulations to measure progress. Content is tailored for non-technical staff, software developers, and IT administrators.
Risk management and governance
We assess your risks, identify gaps across your IT environment, and give you a practical roadmap that ties security work to business priorities. We also help set up the governance that keeps a program running: ownership, reporting to leadership, and regular review.
For ongoing leadership, our vCISO service provides an experienced security executive part-time. For customer due diligence, our security questionnaire service helps you answer SIG, CAIQ, HECVAT, VSA, and custom questionnaires accurately.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Can't we just use security policy templates?
Templates are a starting point, but auditors look for policies that match what you actually do. Generic policies often promise controls you do not have, which creates audit findings. We tailor policies to your operations so they are accurate and usable.
Which security framework should we follow?
It depends on your industry, customers, and regulators. SOC 2 is common for U.S. software companies, ISO 27001 for international customers, and NIST frameworks for government-related work. We help you choose and often map one set of controls to several frameworks at once.
How do you run security awareness training?
We begin with phishing simulations to find where people are vulnerable, then assign short training modules that match each group's results. Regular follow-up simulations show whether behavior is improving.
We are small. Do we really need a formal security program?
If you handle sensitive data or sell to larger companies, yes. Customers, insurers, and regulators increasingly expect documented policies and controls. We scale the program to your size so it is proportionate rather than bureaucratic.
Do you help implement controls, or only recommend them?
Both. We can deliver an assessment and roadmap for your team to execute, or work alongside you to implement and document the controls.
